Into the Wild
Jon Krakauer
Into the Wild, published in 1996 by Jon Krakauer, is a nonfiction narrative classic, a story that has the vivid descriptions of characters and plot of a book but is based on real people and actual events. The book is based on an essay in a 1993 magazine that Krakauer wrote reconstructing the steps of Christopher McCandless, a young man found dead on a bus in Alaska in 1992, after wandering through the United States for many years.
